Fun Liner - Hot Pink

Products Used:

  • Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Woodstock
  • Angled Eye liner brush
  • Loreal Lineur Intense Eyeliner
  • Buxom Mascara in Blackest Black
  • Loreal Voluminous in Carbon Black
  • Loreal Million Lashes
How To:
  1. Mask any discoloration on your lids with your favorite concealer.
  2. Take Woodstock on a dense angled liner brush and line your eyes. You can make this thick, super thin, or wing it out!
  3. Make a thin line with a liquid eyeliner to define your eyes. I suggest staying as close as possible to your upper lash line.
  4. Apply a few coats of your favorite mascara, and your good to go!
I must say, I never really thought I'd be into pink eyeliner, but... I kind of am! It's actually really pretty! Bright colors totally used to scare me, but now it seems like any color, in moderation can be wearable. I hope you guys enjoyed this look! Have you tried pink liner? If you have, whats your favorite brand?

Have a beautiful day!<3

Cookie Therapy - Oatmeal

Hi guys!
Om nom nom!
I made these oatmeal cookies last night, and oh.my.gosh. These are basically my new favorite cookies! They are insanely good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter, softened
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 3 cups of quick cooking oats
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Milk
Directions:
  1. In a medium bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in oats. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets (this is... suggested, but I didn't and mine didn't stick). Roll the dough into walnut sized balls (or use a cookie scoop) and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 6 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. For the frosting just place some powdered sugar in a bowl and add a small, I mean small amount of milk. Whisk it together until you get the consistency that you want, and once you do then just add some vanilla extract and drizzle it on your cookies!
Sarah's Tips:
  • The original recipe that I used said to bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, but mine really took about 6. You know how your oven works, so just keep an eye on them!
Let me know if you guys try these out! I hope you love them just as much as I do :).
Have a beautiful day!<3

P.S. The original recipe is from allrecipes.com but I altered it a bit!

Cookie Therapy - Chocolate Chip

Hello, hello lovelies! :)
So, this is the first post in another new series! I'm just full of surprises this week ;). As you can tell, it's baking themed. This, is another one of my many obsessions. I tend to focus on cookies because, who doesn't like cookies? All the recipes I will be showing you guys are ones that I have made and certified them as delicious!
Today's  cookie is a total classic. But I think that there's a reason that this one has stuck around for so long.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of butter, softened
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cups of walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cream together the butter, white and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Add the baking soda and salt to the batter. Stir in the flour, chocolate chips and nuts (if you use them). Drop by large spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. (I use a cookie scoop, it is so much easier!)
  3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the oven, or until the edges are nicely browned. ( If you are using a timer, set it for 8 minutes and just keep checking them).
Sarahs Tips:
  • Use a cookie scoop, it makes uniform cookies and it's less messy!
  • Start checking your cookies around 7-8 minutes, everyone's oven works differently so yours might take less time than mine!
  • Don't wait until the cookies look completely done, by that I mean like really golden brown. I've found that they keep cooking even when you take them out so if you want perfect chewy, amazing cookies take them out when they are lightly golden brown. Obviously don't take them out if they are still uncooked. The good thing about that is, if you miss judge, you can just put them back in the oven!
  • If you're a fan of milk chocolate, try using Giradelli Milk Chocolate Chips! They are so  good!
I hope you guys liked this new type of post! :) Let me know if you try out this recipe, and do you want to see more Cookie Therapy posts?
Have a beautiful day! :)

Fun Liner- Bright Blue

Products Used:

  • Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 01
  • Double Date pencil in "Blue Jeans" with an angled eyeliner brush
  • Buxom mascara in Blackest Black
  • Loreal Voluminous in Carbon Black
How To:
  1. Cancel out any discoloration on your lids with your favorite concealer
  2. Take the blue liner (mines super creamy) on an angled liner brush
  3. Apply as much (or as little) of your favorite mascara
All done! Guys, I LOVE this eyeliner! Well, maybe not specifically the product, but this color! Oh. my. gosh. I got so many compliments on this! I typically don't go for blue liner, or eye products in general, but this look may have converted me... Seriously. I love in the last picture how you can see my lashes, and then just sort of peeking out from behind is a really super bright blue! I'm sure you could use any bright blue color for this look, this was just the one I had on hand. It's from the brand "Townley Cosmetics". I'm pretty sure they make cosmetics for kids, so basically play cosmetics. But hey, whatever! I love this color!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Are you guys obsessed with blue liner, or are you going to pass this color up?
Have a beautiful day! :)

Fun Liner - Purple

Products Used:
  • Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 01
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Ransom
  • Buxom mascara in Blackest Black
  • Loreal Voluminous in Carbon Black
How To:
  1. Cancel out any color on your lids with your favorite concealer. (No eye primer needed!)
  2. Line your eyes with Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Ransom. Wing it out, make it thick, just line it up!
  3. Apply your favorite mascara!
So I know that was kind of... stupidly simple, but I really love this eye liner! Its such a pretty purpley-blue. I feel like this is a dark enough liner that you don't need to go back in with a black liner. But hey, if you want to, go ahead! Let me know if you guys have this liner. If you do, are you obsessed?!
Talk to you guys soon!
Have a beautiful day!<3

Product Swap: NARS Pro- Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

I know, I know... It's been quite a while since I did a product swap! Sorry guys, but I promise I'm testing out tons of products that will be blogged about very soon! :)
Today, as you probably already know is NARS's eye shadow base!
What did I swap out?
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Which I do prefer?
Ehh, that's a toughie! I love certain things about both.
Price difference?
NARS is $4 more expensive than UDPP
Where can you find it?
Sephora.com and I think Sephora stores. Oh, and NARS.com
What did I like about it?
It made my shadows last ALL day, literally NO creasing. Now, my UDPP does a great job too, but this one might just do that job a little bit better...
What didn't I like?
The size... Well, I have a mini so I guess that's not going to affect you if your buying it! Also, I wish it had a bit of a tint like the UDPP instead of being completely colorless.
Is it worth the money?
I think so! If your looking for an awesome eye primer, I would definitely check this out! Especially if you've tried the UDPP and you didn't like it, or if your just in the mood to branch out and try something new!
Final thoughts?
I really, really like this product! I think it is definitely comparable to my UDPP, and the staying power honestly might be better!

Fun Liner- Silver

Hey guys!
So this is the first post in my new series! :) I'm actually really excited about it! This entire series is going to be dedicated to 'fun liner'. I think bright, bold colors are super hot  for spring and summer, so I'll be testing out some new shades, and brands and letting you guys know what I think of them. And, my favorite ways to wear them. I hope you guys like it! :)

Products Used:

  • Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 01
  • Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Silver Dollar
  • Loreal HIP Color Truth Cream Liner in 905 Black with a MAC 210 liner brush
  • Buxom mascara in Blackest Black
  • Loreal Voluminous in Carbon Black
How To:
  1. Use your favorite concealer to cancel out any discoloration on your lids. You don't need an eye primer because were not going to be using any shadow.
  2. Take the Stila Smudge Stick and line your upper lashes, you can wing it out if you like. Apply as much as you want!
  3. Take a black gel liner and line really really close to your lash line, just to give your eyes some more definition
  4. Apply your favorite mascara and then your done!
This is again, a super simple look but I really like it for days when I don't want to put a ton of effort into my makeup. I feel like this just makes your eyes look really awake!
Know of any colors you think I should test out? Leave them in the comments! :)
Have a beautiful day! <3

Thoughts on The Hunger Games

Hey guys!
So if you follow me on Twitter, then you already know that I went and saw The Hunger Games last night! I honestly have been looking forward to seeing the movie since I finished the first book! Alright, now onto what I thought.

It seems like the movies are never quite as good as the books, and in this case, that remains true. However, I really did like it. I think they did a good job with recreating it. Unfortunately, there were somethings that they changed, and left out...Like how Katniss gave Prim the pin to keep her safe... what? Are you kidding me? Did I skip a chapter or something, because that's definitely not how it happened. And because of that, that completely gets rid of the character Madge. Who, I think is very important in Mockingjay even though she's dead. Also, Peeta's father never visited Katniss before she left for the Capitol.  I also feel like they didn't show the grandeur of the Capitol enough, you don't really get the sense that all of the other districts are poor and starving and the citizens of the Capitol have a fine life. And the only one in Katniss's family that looked even on the verge of starvation was her mother. Now, skipping to the Arena, I was a little bit bummed that they didn't show Rue's district sending Katniss their bread as a way of saying thanks. But, I did like that they showed Rue's district doing the three-finger salute to Katniss. Now, at the very end they didn't show Katniss and Peeta in the hovercraft where she was absolutely freaking out thinking they were going to kill them. It might just be me, but I actually really liked that part in the book, because it felt like the first time Katniss really showed that she cared for Peeta. The way they ended it leaves me wondering about the next movie... They did not show Katniss and Peeta's fight at the very end, and I feel like that is kind of important to the next movie, because they aren't exactly buddy buddy in the beginning of the second book.
Alright, enough about the bad! Time for some stuff that I loved! I really, really loved the way they showed the fighting in the Arena. It wasn't too gruesome but you knew exactly what was going on. I know that in the book they don't talk about what is going on with the game makers and the sponsors because it is told from Katniss's point of view, but I loved how they showed that in the movie! I think it made it really obvious that the tributes had absolutely no control over their fates. If the game makers wanted you to die, you would die. I also thought that Josh Hutcherson did an amazing job as Peeta! Not gonna lie guys, he's pretty cute! Jennifer Lawrence also did a great job as Katniss!
Overall, I really enjoyed the movie, if you've read the book, I think it's worth seeing but there will probably be a few changes that they made that irritate you.
Let me know if you've seen it or if your planning on going to see it! And if you've seen it- what did you think?!
Have a great Sunday guys! :)

Benefit Dandelion Review

Hi hi guys! :)
So lately I've been kind of obsessed with this blush! Seriously. So pretty!
As you can tell from the pictures, it's really, really light. But that works for me because I'm basically the color of glue!
Sephora Description-

Fake awake with Dandelion - Benefit's ballerina-pink pressed highlighting powder. Just one stroke of Dandelion takes your complexion from dull to radiant in an instant. It's shimmery, satiny, radiant, perk-me-up finish is guaranteed to make them wonder ..."How do you look so pretty at eight in the morning?"

Uses-
Sephora says that you can use this powder as an all over highlighting powder. I'm not a fan of the disco ball look, but I haven't tried it like that so I mean it could be super duper pretty and I'll just never know! Like I said earlier, you can use this as a blush for a subtle flush. And you could probably use it as a cheekbone highlighter.
Thoughts-
Personally, I would not recommend this if your tan or have darker skin. I just don't think that you would even be able to see it. Obviously, I'm not using this blush to give me a high impact color on my cheeks, I just love the light pink glowy-flush it gives me! Literally, so gorgeous.
Price-
$28 on Sephora.com
Final Say-
Buy it! :) If you're looking for a product to give you a gorgeous natural glow, this is it!
Dislaimer- All products mentioned were purchased with my own money.

Advice - Buying Cosmetics on eBay

Hey ya'll!
Sorry that I sort of disappeared this week. It was just a little bit insane!
Anyways, as some of you may remember I mentioned in my Two Color Tutorial using Stila's It Girl palette that you couldn't get it from Sephora anymore, so I recommended eBay. Yes, eBay.
I know a lot of you are probably skeptical about buying brand name cosmetics from eBay vendors. I get it- no one wants to buy fake cosmetics. That's completely understandable. But, if you know what to look for, you can actually get some really great deals on eBay.
Some advice?

  • Feedback
    • This is super important. If they have good feedback from customers similar to you ( buying cosmetics) you can basically guarantee that the cosmetics are authentic. Generally, power sellers and people who have stores are safe bets.
  • Location
    • This might sound weird, but if I'm looking at a product and I see that its shipping from China or Hong Kong, I probably won't buy it. I have found that most fake cosmetics come from overseas. Try to buy from the U.S. if possible.
  • Price
    • If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I unfortunately have a personal experience with this one. (Story time-  I was searching for one of my favorite Benefit lipsticks and this one vendor had a great deal on it. So obviously, I was pumped. Needless to say, I bought it, and then when I opened it, it wasn't even close to the color of the real lipstick. Yup, it was a fake.)
  • Description
    • Most vendors will have a description section for whatever product they are selling. Read it. Most times they will say if they guarantee that their products are authentic. And sometimes, if you spend enough money they will throw in some free samples. Also, you can find information about shipping, return policies, and payment in the description.
  • When in doubt, ask.
    • Send them a message! Ask your questions! They want your business. They'd be fools if they didn't try to help you to the best of their ability. Ask about authenticity, shipping costs, combining shipping, etc. Whatever questions you may have, ask them. They aren't going to do you any good when your sitting at home with your brandy new fake product. Bet you'll be regretting not asking about authenticity then!
  • Know Your Product
    • If you've never seen a product in person before, don't order it from eBay. You'll have absolutely no idea if they've sent you a fake or not. Try to get products that you've either used or at least seen in stores.
  • Frequent Fakers
    • I don't know many brands for cosmetics that are frequently faked. But two of the big ones are definitely MAC and Benefit. If you were trying to buy MAC on eBay I would be super careful, make sure you really know what your looking for.
I think those are pretty much the basics for buying cosmetics on eBay and I hope that helped you guys a little bit :) Feel free to message me if you guys have any specific questions about buying cosmetics off of eBay! What do you think? Would you buy cosmetics from eBay, or are you totally against it?
Talk to you guys soon!

Kony 2012

Hi everyone.
For just a few minutes today I would like to break away from my typical posts to talk about something that  is very important. I'm sure some of you have heard of Kony 2012 because it's a bit of a hot topic right now. But, for those of you that haven't I just wanted to make you aware of what was going on. I'm going to insert the video that explains all about this. Yes, I know, it's 30 minutes and we all have extremely busy lives. But it's 30 minutes of your time that will not be wasted. Those 30 minutes are going to help change everything.
If you'd rather watch this video through Youtube click here
Obviously, I don't have all of the details but I can link you guys to some really important things.
If you would like to pledge your support to help stop Joseph Kony click here.
If you are interested in purchasing the action kit or t-shirts to help show your support, go here.
I cannot stress enough how important it is that you tell everyone you know about this. Like the video says, make him famous.
Let me know if you guys watch the video and what you think about it. Also, what are you going to do to help get involved? I know I'm planning on ordering an action kit and plastering my city with posters.
Much love, and stay safe.

Stila The It Girl Palette - Two Color Tutorial

The finished look!
Prime your eyes and then place Kitten all over your lid
Take Americano on a flat shader brush and place it in your crease. Yup, it looks funky!
Ready. Set. BLEND!

Yay for blending! :)

Take Kitten on the flat shader brush and just place it along your lash line to make yourself look more awake.

Oh, hello awake eyes!

Take Americano on an angled liner brush and line those peepers!

Add some mascara to those lashes and you're golden!

Products Used:

  • NARS Pro Prime
  • Stila's The It Girl Palette
    • Kitten & Americano
  • Buxom's Buxom Lash in Blackest Black and Loreal Volumious Mascara
Yup! That's it! It's really super simple. This is one of the looks I do when I wake up late and I really shouldn't even have time to put makeup on. I think the thing that makes it so super quick is that you really don't have to be careful with the shadows. I mean, you basically slap Americano into your crease and then blend it until it's beautiful. Easy peasy!
Ok guys, I have bad news... This palette is no longer available at Sephora </3. But don't worry - I've found a solution to our little problem! Ebay! ....What? Buying cosmetics on Ebay? Yes guys! You can get this exact palette by clicking here (it will take you to a list of all the listings of this). If you want I can do a post about buying cosmetics on Ebay and what to be aware of. I've done it before and if you know what to look for, you're not going to end up with fake cosmetics.
Let me know if you prefer this type of tutorial over just having pictures of the final look and then me writing out the steps.
Have a wonderful day! :)
Talk to you soon<3

Naked Week - Day 7

  1. Prime your lids with NARS Pro Prime. (Or your favorite colorless primer.)
  2. Take In The Buff and place it from your brow bone to your lash line.
  3. Apply Satin Sheets to your lid. Make sure its not a sheer application.
  4. Place Unmentionables to the outer third of your lid.
  5. Apply Lap Dance to your crease.
  6. Take Stiletto and place it in the outer 'v' of your eye lid.
  7. Blend! Seriously, blend the heck out of that. Then add more Stiletto if you want to darken it.
  8. Take Stiletto on an angled eye liner brush and line your upper lash line.
  9. Take a smudge brush and smudge out your 'liner' to make the look a little bit smokier.
  10. Apply as much as your favorite mascara as you like! And then your done! :) ( I used Buxom's Buxom Lash and Loreal Voluminous)
Sorry that this look is up a day late! I went shopping yesterday and didn't have any time to upload. But I'm not gonna lie guys, I'm going to miss naked week. I only showed you 7 looks, but I'm sure there are tons more that you could do! The possibilities with this palette are practically endless!
