My Spring Essentials

Now I know that there is less than 20 days left of spring but I still wanted to get my spring essentials post up!

NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper - I can't believe how long it's taken me to try blotting sheets. Honestly, you would think that I live under a rock. I had an internship interview last month and I wanted to bring powder with me so that I wouldn't look too shiny, but I was worried about caking my makeup. The magical solution to my problems? Blotting sheets.

L'Oreal Color Riche Caresse Aqua Laquer - This is hands down one of my favorite long wearing lip colors. In the springtime what I really want in a lip color is something that is no fuss. I want to be able to slap it on and not worry about it for hours. This does just that.

L'Oreal Silky Sheer Face Lotion SPF 50+ - You might think of sunscreen as something you only use in the summer but really, you need it just as much in the spring. This is one of my favorite ones for my face. It's a super thin consistency and drys to a powdery finish so I don't feel like a greasy mess!

KMS California Hair Play - I feel so guilty for cheating on my Batiste... But this stuff is seriously amazing. I can spray this in my incredibly dark brown hair and I don't see anything. I mean literally not a spec of white powder. Not only is it an amazing dry shampoo but, it gives me a ton of volume!

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream - Come spring time I really just want a no fuss makeup routine. I'm all about products that I can slap on my face while I'm running out the door. I didn't expect much from this drugstore BB cream but I have seriously fallen in love. I will say that in the tube it looks pretty intense... Like oompa loompa intense. But, have no fear. Once you apply it the crazy orange look disappears. I have this in the lightest shade that they offer and I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be WAY too dark for me come winter time.

Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline - Oh. My. Goodness. This stuff is divine. Fragrance is incredibly personal but I think that this is one of those scents that you can't not love!

What products do you love in the springtime?

See you tomorrow!

May Favorites - 2014

 Haircare -

  • L'Oreal Advance Power Moisture Mask - I am one of those people that uses a hair mask basically every day in place of a traditional conditioner. My hair is extremely long and it was fairly damaged up until a few days ago when I got a much needed trim. This is one of the only products that makes my hair manageable right from when I step out of the shower. Plus, if you like hair products that have a scent that lingers, you need this!

  • It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin - Every single person with hair on their head needs to try this. For the longest time I thought that this was the most overpriced leave in conditioner. But then, I tried it. Do you want silk for hair? Yes? You need this. Nothing has ever made my hair softer, silkier or shinier.

 Skincare -

  • Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment - An under eye cream is by no means necessary at 18 years old. However, I have incredibly dry skin so I find that when I don't use one, my under eye concealer just looks cakey no matter what other products I use. I think that I might have fairly sensitive eyes as some of the others that I've tried left my eyes puffy (as if I had been crying) when I woke up. This thankfully doesn't do that! I do think that this has been helping to brighten up my under eye and overall I just love it!

  • Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil for Dry Skin - The only other cleansing oil that I have ever tried is the Dermalogica Precleanse and my skin had a bit of a freakout after using it. Naturally, I assumed it was the new product that I had tried to incorporate into my routine and swore off oil cleansers for good. Well, I am one of those people who is always looking for the next best thing even if what I already have is fantastic. When I saw that Garnier was coming out with an oil cleanser I knew I had to try it. The price point of this is around $7.00 which isn't bad for a bottle this big. My only complaint is that it leaves a slight residue on your skin. This doesn't bother me too much because I have extremely dry skin and typically use my Clarisonic after removing my makeup with this. If you've always wanted to try an oil cleanser but didn't know where to start - check this one out!

  •  it Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in Fair - $38.00 for a CC Cream? I put off buying this for so long because I thought that there was no way that this could be worth the money. Man, I was wrong. It's amazing! This is my go to when I want my makeup to last all day with relatively natural coverage that won't look shiny. Seriously, everyone needs this.

  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - All month this has been my go to for the days when I don't have a lot going on. I use this a lot on days when I just need a little bit of coverage to run some errands and especially before I go to the gym if my skin is having an off day! I still really want to pick up the Dream Pure version that has salicylic acid in it for days that I am wearing this to the gym to prevent any post-workout breakouts. Unfortunately, my Walmart only has two of the shades.

  • Maybelline Baby Skin - I wouldn't say that this is a wonder cream... But it is hands down the best primer that I've found from the drugstore. I know that everyone says this is basically a dupe for Benefit's The Porefessional but I just don't see that. I think that this is more of a mixture between The Porefessional and Smashbox Photo Finish. Either way, I love the way my foundations/BB creams/CC creams apply over this.

  •  Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer - I can't lie, that picture makes it look a little bit scary. I promise it really isn't that reddish in person! For at least three years I have been faithful to my Benefit Hoola and I haven't tried anything else but Sephora had a kit with this miniature bronzer and I knew that it was fate for me to try it. Seeing as I've basically only ever used my Hoola bronzer I wasn't sure how I felt about the shimmer in this. But honestly, I don't see it on my skin! I think this gives me a nice summery glow but I don't look like I just doused myself in craft glitter.

  •  Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold - This I had purchased on a bit of a whim. I know that a lot of people love these but I just haven't been thrilled with the colors that I had purchased. I think that's on me though, the only other colors that I had picked up aren't really ones that I'd use on a regular basis. But, I have been loving this for an all over lid color lately! I use this and a light/medium matte brown shade to blend into my crease and that's basically it. To me, it's an incredibly simplified summertime smoky eye! ( Expect a post coming soon!)

  • NYX Butter Glosses in Creme Brûlée & Eclair - The praise for this gloss is 100% deserved. This is another product that I figured was just over hyped and that it probably wasn't that great. To be honest, I'm not much of a gloss wearer. Nothing that I owned (before these) every wowed me. Eclair is the most perfect nudey-pink shade for everyday. Honestly, I adore it. I think it even looks amazing when it wears down. Creme Brûlée is more of a peachy nude and probably a color that I would have shied away from a few months ago, but this is an amazing nude that won't make your lips look dead! Plus, even if the shades were hideous I feel like I'd still wear them because the consistency is to-die-for.
What were you loving in the month of May?

See you tomorrow!

Products I've Used Up - May 2014

 Skincare -

  • Simple Exfoliating Facial Wipes - These weren't terrible.. But I can't say that I liked them. I know that they are meant to be exfoliating but I found that they were too rough on my skin and they didn't take off all of my makeup which was a huge disappointment.
    • Would I repurchase? No.
  • Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter - I'm not sure that this is the scent for everyone. I however, loved it! This was just a small size that I got from a hotel that I stayed at a while back. If your looking for a non-greasy body butter check this line out!
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Caudalie Body Lotion - This saved my legs! No matter what shaving cream I use, my legs always end up really dry and this is the only thing that fixed that! It sunk into my skin almost immediately and was not greasy at all!
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Proactiv+ Pore Targeting Treatment -  There are no words for this product. My love for this just cannot be measured. A '3 month supply' lasted me 6 months!
    • Would I repurchase? Until the day that I die - yes!
  • Clinique Moisture Surge Intense (x2) - If you've ever watched one of my empties videos on Youtube you will know that this moisturizer is my saving grace. This is the most perfect moisturizer for my dry skin. When my skin was patchy and absolutely horrific this brought it back to normal!
    • Would I repurchase? Yes! I have a stock of like 10 waiting to be used.
  • Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion - I had this riding around in my purse for a really long time and I did like it. It smells really good but it can be greasy. I preferred this for my legs and arms rather than my hands.
    • Would I repurchase? No.
  • Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Cleansing Milk -  This + my Clarisonic = perfection. I have tried other milk cleansers in the past and I've never been a fan because they leave a residue on my skin and don't take off all of my makeup. But this baby, is in a league of it's own. It takes off 100% of my makeup, is incredibly gentle, and leaves my face feeling moisturized!
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Estee Lauder Soft Clean -  I have to say that this was incredibly fun to use with my Clarisonic. The lather I got was insane. However, I found that it was pretty drying on my skin and didn't think that it did much of anything for me.
    • Would I repurchase? No.

Haircare -

  • One N Only Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner - Honestly, I don't even know how many bottles of this I've gone through. It's moisturizing, it smells amazing, it works wonders on color treated hair. What more could a girl want?
    • Would I repurchase? Forever and ever - yes!
  • One N Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask - Again, I have no idea how many bottles of this wonder cream I've used up! When my hair feels dry and damaged and altogether just meh, this is the quick fix! I use this probably 3-4 times a week and it makes my hair shiny, soft, and it smells so good.
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Ojon Volume Advance Shampoo - While I did like this shampoo a lot (it smells fantastic) I don't think that I can justify the price point. It did give me lots of extra volume when I used it but I think I can find something just as good at half the price.
    • Would I repurchase? No.
  • Suave Moroccan Oil Mask - This is a great cheaper alternative to the One N Only mask. While I don't think that it works quite as well it does leave my hair very soft and shiny!
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Ojon Color Sustain Conditioner - This conditioner was very gentle on freshly colored hair, I didn't think that it did much of anything.
    • Would I repurchase? No.
  • Batiste Deep Dark Brown Dry Shampoo - Where has this been all my life? If you have brown hair you NEED this! Honestly, it has changed the way I feel about dry shampoo! I used to hate it because of the gross white/grey residue that would be left in my hair but this is so amazing! I can spray it directly on my part-line and you can't even tell! It's magic.
    • Would I repurchase? Yes!
  • Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo - If your looking for an inexpensive shampoo for color treated hair then look no further! It smells amazing and always left my hair really soft. I never found that it stripped my color! Personally, I will be sticking with my One N Only but if your new to the color treated shampoo game - give this one a go!
    • Would I repurchase? No.
Have you tried any of these products, did you like them?

See you tomorrow!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Dive In

I know that these polishes aren't exactly 'new' but they are some of the newest ones on the market right now! Before today I had never tried these but thought that they looked intriguing. In the past I've always been fairly happy with Sally Hansen's nail polishes so I figured it was time for me to test out some of the new ones!

My color of choice as I'm sure you can tell from the title of this post was "Dive In". It's a beautiful cream finish sea foam/turquoise/teal shade!

Without flash -

With flash -

I believe that this polish is marketed so that you don't have to use a topcoat with it, but I used my Sechevite anyway! I do have the Triple Shine top coat but I opted for a fast-drying one today as I was in a bit of a hurry. I have to say, my nails do look incredibly glossy and my camera isn't doing it justice at all. I'd say that they are somewhere in between a regular manicure and gels.

I used two coats of my Essie base coat and let that dry completely before moving on to color. The first coat applied pretty streaky but not as bad as I had been expecting. I only needed two coats in total for this manicure and I think it looks great!

I cannot comment at the moment on how long this polish lasts on the nails but I plan to test out a few more shades in the near future. So keep your eyes open for a review of the line!

See you tomorrow!

Hello Again & Ulta Haul!

Oh hello there! It's been quite some time hasn't it? I dare say almost a year. All I can say for myself is that I did not completely fall off of the face of the earth during that time! Throughout my 'leave of absence' I was still posting videos on my Youtube channel. Either way to speed up my explanation of sorts, I've actually really come to miss blogging so I decided to resurrect my blog, and what better way than to start it off with an Ulta haul?

I recently had accumulated quite a few points at Ulta and I was really itching to spend them and when I saw that NYX was buy one get one 50% I just couldn't say no... Also, I will be doing reviews and swatches for most if not all of these products so I'll try and keep this post short!

Eyes- I picked up the LORAC Pro palette which I have been lusting over for what feels like forever and honestly, I couldn't be happier that I finally got it! Ulta had a kit with the UDPP Original and the UDPP anti aging for $20 and I couldn't resist, it's been a while since I've had UDPP and I'm so happy it's back in my life! The NYX Chocolate brown liquid liner was a bit of an impulse purchase, I'm always searching for the next best liquid liner. The NYX Wonder Pencil was another impulse-ish purchase - I've heard lots of people rave about this one so I figured I'd give it a go.
Lips- As we can tell, I went a little bit crazy with the butter glosses. I got (L-R) Merengue, Maple Blondie, Tiramisu, Creme Brûlée, Eclair. I have no idea why it took me so long to get these, but I am obsessed. I also picked up the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss and their Kiss of Olive Oil and Lemon - both of which I've heard great things about!
Everything Else - Both the Juice Beauty Peel and the mini Benefit Porefessional were gifts with purchase. I finally got the full size of my beloved Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder. This stuff is ah-maz-ing. I've been searching everywhere for the new Maybelline Bleached Neons collection and I've yet to find it, but I did pick up Pink Embrace which I am loving right now!

So that's everything from my little-ish Ulta haul! I'm still searching for the Bleached Neons collection and the new Dream Pure BB Cream. Hopefully I will have posts about both of those very soon!
To force myself back into the habit of blogging again I am going to be (trying) to have a new post up 7 days a week. The likelihood that I will actually do this is slim but hey, I like a challenge!

See you tomorrow!

Summertime Fine Makeup

Hey ya'll!
Sorry I took a little bit of a hiatus during July, it was just a crazy month! But I think that I'm going to start making Youtube videos again. Now that I have my MacBook I can actually edit videos without my computer kicking me out of the program, so thats nice! Anyways, my first video is up so I'll leave it here if you want to take a look!

Have a beautiful day <3

June Favorites!

I know this is a tad bit late, but better late than never right?! Sorry for Boo Radley photo bombing the swatch photo. The flash from my camera was freaking him out and he was trying to figure out where it was coming from. I had a total brain fart when I was trying to think of my favorite products for June. This happens every single month. All during the month I'm like, wow! this product is like the greatest thing I've ever used! and then when it comes time to grab these products, I CANT REMEMBER WHICH ONE IT WAS. I might be exaggerating a little bit, but it is so frustrating... Anyways, lets get into what I actually did remember.
  • Benefit Porefessional Primer - This stuff is really awesome! My mom calls it her "spackle primer" because it fills in her pores that are "the size of Texas". I was running low on primer this month and I don't like the way some of my foundations play with the Pixi primer (I'll talk about that in a minute). I personally don't have large pores so I can't backup my moms statement with personal experience, but I do enjoy the way this makes my foundation stay all day!
  • Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in 110- I LOVE the finish of this foundation! I feel like it's incredibly versatile! I've built it up to be a full coverage using a brush, but with my beauty blender or my fingers it is a light-medium with the most beautiful natural ( not "dewy") finish! This shade it too light for me right now, but I'm debating trying the new Covergirl whipped foundation or just purchasing this in a darker shade.
  • MAC Dame Blush - I love this for when I want a super natural look, it definitely adds color to my face but it doesn't look like I caked on my grandma's powder blush.
  • MAC Pearlglide Liner in Industrial - This is the most gorgeous liner ever for those lazy makeup days! It comes off as kind of a grey-ish blue, but I find that in certain lights it looks purple! My mom never believes that this is just one liner when I'm wearing it. It looks a little bit like an ombre liner with out any extra work!
  • NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray - I usually don't like my foundation to have a dewy finish but this doesn't give an overly dewy (wet looking ) look. I think it just helps to make my foundation look a little bit more natural, and that is always a good thing. It definitely helps my foundation stay put in the summer heat too, so I love this!
  • NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Pink - I haven't technically been using this as a liner... I like to put this under my brow bone and blend it in for a gorgeous highlight! It reminds me of the one that Lucy Hale often sports on Pretty Little Liars. Plus, it lasts all day, even if you get it wet!
  • MAC Something Special Cream Blush - This is forever going to be one of my favorite basic blushes! I  love that it has no sparkle or shimmer in it. I personally hate when my cream blushes have that, I just think it looks weird on my skin. This blends in perfectly whether you use your fingers or a brush. This favorite certainly won't be going anywhere anytime soon!
  • NYX Photogenic HD Concealer in Porcelain - Concealers have always creased under my eyes no matter what I used with it. I've tried ones from Benefit, Cover FX, Revlon, Maybelline, and various other high end and drugstore brands. None of them last as well as this one. It blends beautifully under my eyes and doesn't crease. For covering problem areas on other parts of my skin it blends right in and you can't tell that I'm wearing concealer. I wish I had tried this sooner!
  • Pixi Face Prime - I really like this for when I use a powder foundation like the Smashbox Halo. It doesn't play well with all of my liquid foundations however. Some of them look streaky and awful when paired together. When used with the right foundation, this primer is awesome!
  • Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray -  I can't stand when I use a hairspray gets flaky and leaves white gunk in my hair. I usually just spray this lightly into my hair to help hold curls or to tame my flyaway's and it's perfect!
  • Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in One Size Fits Pearl - Personally, I wish this didn't have the shimmer in it that it does, but I really like it for a simple moisturizing lip color. It's really light-weight and perfect for the summer time!
  • Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Spot Treatment - Last month my skin was having a fit and decided to rebel against me no matter what I did. Once I started using this in conjunction with my Pink Grapefruit Acne Scrub it cleared right up.
That's all for my favorite products for June! What are you guys loving this summer? Do you have any recommendations for me!?

Have a beautiful day <3

Drugstore Haul!

Hey guys!
Sorry I disappeared for a little while! I lost the charger for my camera and for a while I was determined to find it, but it seems to have vanished so I just ordered a new one and it came in last night so yay! It seems that Maybelline has been on point with their new releases lately so naturally I got sucked in. I literally went to 6 different stores last week looking for the gel stick foundation! So worth it. Let's get in to the goodies!

  • Maybelline The Mega Plush mascara (waterproof) - I was totally out of waterproof mascara a little while ago and CVS had one of their extrabucks deals going on so I had to get two!
  • Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick in 110 & 115 - I finally stumbled upon these last Thursday at Target. I practically ran up to the fully stocked display because its totally logical to think that someone could have scooped them all up before I reached it! I've only tried these out twice so far but I'll be putting up an in depth review soon.
  • Blum Naturals Cucumber Face Wipes- These smell amazing. If your not a cucumber scent fan, I'd steer clear, but I love them!
  • Maybelline Baby Lips-
    • Berry Bomb (Electro Collection)
    • Pink Wink
    • Pink Shock (Electro Collection)
    • Strike a Rose (Electro Collection)
    • Oh! Orange! (Electro Collection)
  • Dermstore Lipquench- This smells like the Very Berry Refresher from Starbucks (which I'm obsessed  with) and it feels a bit sticky at first but I think it does a great job moisturizing my lips!
  • Beauty Blender Cleanser- I bought a Beauty Blender a few weeks ago and I now understand what all the hype is about. But naturally my mother had to be the voice of reason pointing out that it could be a breeding ground for bacteria. I was planning on just using a regular brush shampoo to clean it, and then after some research I found that the designated cleanser for it has antibacterial properties in it so I caved and paid $10 for a bottle of sponge cleaner...
A super tiny little exciting update! I ombre'd my hair today!! I had been toying with the idea for probably a year now and this morning I was incredibly bored and finally had the cojones to do it! I will be posting a before and after along with how I did it very soon!

Have a beautiful evening everyone! <3

Ulta Haul!

Hey guys!
I ordered some stuff from Ulta last week and it came in yesterday so I figured I would show you what I got! The real reason that I ordered was because I needed some new skincare products because my skin has been looking like straight butt lately and I am not ok with that! But NYX was buy one get one 50% off so.... I kind of had to get some stuff. Plus they had a NYX goody bag if you spent $35 so you best believe I got that! Anyways, lets start with non-makeup.

  1. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque- I have used this before and I remember liking it. It claims to help with acne and it's pretty cheap so I thought I'd give it a shot!
  2. Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel- According to the reviews on Ulta's website it doesn't really do much to help fade acne scars but that isn't really my main concern. I needed a new spot treatment and a lot of people liked this one. My skin tends to be pretty sensitive and dry so I might have to use this every other day, it has 2% salicylic acid. I'm now looking for one that had benzoyl peroxide in it, if you know of any good ones please let me know!
  3. Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray- I LOVE this hairspray! I got a travel size of it in one of my Ipsy bags a few months back and I sadly ran out of it. I really don't want to pay $20 for a big bottle of hairspray although I'm sure that I will eventually. This was on sale for $3.00 and it's travel size so it will be perfect for my trip to Canada this summer!
  4. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Cream Cleanser- Let me just say, I am kind of irritated with Ulta. I wanted the scrub version of this face soap and the item I purchased said that it was the scrub but the picture was of the cream cleanser so I figured it was just a mistake and that they'd send me the right one. Nope. I'm going to double check the listing I bought it from because I think I've tried the cream cleanser before and it dried the heck out of my skin.
  5. NYX Dewy Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray- I'm really looking forward to testing this out. I love NYX products and I love setting sprays so I figured, why not?
  6. L'Oreal Ever Style Beach Spray- I have naturally wavy/curly hair so I love any product that just gives it a little bit of a boost. I know Bumble & Bumble makes a really great beach spray but I just could never justify their prices so when I saw this for around $5 I knew I had to get this! There will definitely be a review coming soon.
  7. Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer- This is the moisturizer that I've been using since January and I absolutely love it! I'm running low on mine so I got this one for when I run out.
  1. Samples- Ahava Extreme Day Cream, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, MOR Hand Cream
  2. NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Pink
  3. NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Black
  4. NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Glam Golden
  5. NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in Divine
  6. NYX Glam Shadow in Beauty Blog
  7. NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Pink
  8. NYX GLam Lip Gloss Aqua Luxe in VIP
  9. NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Porcelain
  10. NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper

Every single makeup product that I bought was from NYX.... oops! Let me know if you want reviews of any of the products!
Have a beautiful day <3
