Makeup Fit For A Fairy Queen?

Hi guys! :)
So I had another day off from school. I figured since I probably wouldn't be going anywhere, today would be a good day to start trying out some options for show makeup seeing as opening night is in two weeks. That sounds like a lot of time, but it's not... So this is my first 'attempt' at a possible look for my show! Keep in mind, we're doing Midsummer/Jersey and I'm Titania, the fairy queen of the forest.
What You Need:
  • Face-
    • Primer
      • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind
    • Foundation
      • Revlon Colorstay in 110 Ivory
    • Concealer
      • Revlon Spa Concealer in 001
    • Face Powder
      • ELF Tone Correcting Powder
    • Contour
      • Benefit Hoola Bronzer
    • Highlight
      • Physicians Formula Retro Glow Illuminating Powder
    • Blush
      • Clinique Powder Blush in Cupid
  • Eyes
    • Eye Primer
      • Benefit Stay Don't Stray
    • Loose Glitter
      • NYX Glitter Mania in 03 Crystal
    • Black Pencil Liner
      • NYC Waterproof Eye Pencil in Black
    • Liquid Liner
      • NYX Liquid Crystal LIner in 102 Crystal Onyx
    • False Lashes & Glue
      • Demi-Wispies
    • Mascara
      • Maybelline The Falsies in Black
  • Lips
    • Lipstick (Red or Nude)
      • NYX Snow White or MAC Hue
    • Lipbrush
The face is pretty basic, just prime and use a medium to full coverage foundation. Use a concealer and setting powder as you normally would. Then highlight, contour and add blush.

For the eyes apply an eye primer and then wet a flat shader brush and dip it into the loose glitter. I recommend putting a piece of paper or something beneath your eye to keep the glitter from sticking to your foundation. Pat the glitter onto your eyes. Once you have an even amount of glitter on both of your eyes, apply the falsies. Then take a black liquid liner to hide the band of the falsies. Use a black pencil liner to emphasize your lower lash line. Apply mascara to blend the falsies with your natural lashes.
Yeah, that's a super cute  face, I know :p. For lips if your going to go with a dark color, I suggest using a lip brush to initially apply it and then fill in and go over it with the actual lipstick.
If you decide to do a nude lip, you can just apply it the way you would normally apply any lipstick!
I think I personally prefer this look with the nude lip, but that's just me! For an actual performance I would probably choose more of a berry pink for the lips so that they don't drown under the lights! Also, next time I think I'm going to try this look but actually use eyeshadow, so do a real eye look and then put the glitter on over it! I'll definitely keep posting the looks as I try them out! Let me know if you guys have any requests or if you want me to do a basic stage makeup post. I've been doing this since I was 5 for dance recitals so it's super fun and I don't mind at all! :)

Have a beautiful day ya'll! :)

Summer Dresses in Fall?

 Hi guys! :)
Sorry that this post is kind of.... delayed? Senior year is just insane and I'm still trying to find a way to balance everything, but I figured that since I have tomorrow off from school thanks to hurricane Sandy, I'd do some posting!
This is an outfit I wore to school when I had some meeting's that I had to go to and needed to look a little bit more put together than I would on an average day!
So yes, that is me sitting on my bed. Thank you Boo Radley for photobombing basically all of the pictures that I took! I couldn't really take the pictures out side because the weather right now is... well, kind of gross? It happens every year, and I should be used to it by now. But I'm still not a fan!
 Dress- Forever21
Bracelet- A gift from California! :)

Face- Revlon Color Stay Foundation in 110 Ivory, ELF Color Correcting Powder, Maybelline Bouncy Blush in Pink Frosting
Eyes- NYC Waterproof Eyeliner in Black, Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Lips- Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm

 Boots- From Marshalls (Brand: Restricted)
Tights- HUE

Can you guys see the little Boo Radley foot? :)

I hope you guys enjoyed this outfit of the day type post! If you'd like to see more, please let me know! To all of you who live in the areas that are affected by Sandy, stay safe!! <3

Have a beautiful day guys! :)

Music Marathon!

Hi guys!

So seeing as I haven't really been posting a lot lately, or really...at all. I haven't been doing my 'Music Monday' posts! So I figured that I would do one giant post with all of the songs that I've had on repeat lately. Beware, there may or may not be an overload of T-Swizzle. :)
State of Grace
Red
Harbor- Vienna Teng
They play this song all the time where I work so naturally it gets stuck in my head, I really really love this song!

I Cry- Flo Rida

Take It All- Adele
Gravity- John Mayer
5 O'Clock- T-Pain, Lily Allen, Wiz Khalifa

Wow. That's a bit of a random mash of songs. Obviously I love every single one of these songs. If you want to know what I blast in my car, and what I look for on Youtube when I get home... now you know!

What's your favorite song of the moment?

Have a beautiful day! :)

Collective Haul!

Hello lovelies! :)
Today I have a bit of a picture heavy post for you guys! It's just a mishmash of some things that I've picked up from Ulta, Rite Aid, Target and various other stores. Ok! Let's get into the haulage.

Ok, so yes the packaging on these lip balms are adorable but, I really do love the formulation! They are by far my favorite, ever. So my Summer Fruit one was running a little bit low recently so I purchased the Strawberry Sorbet thinking I'd be good for another couple of months. Well little did I know I'd end up at Target 6 days later. I swear, I have been searching for the Alice in Wonderland collection everywhere and they only had 3 left at my target so yeah, you know I bought some! No shame.

This may seem like sort of a random purchase because honestly, how often am I going to wear glitter? But I have a reason! The show that I'm currently in is an adaptation of A Midsummer's Night Dream and I'm playing Titania. If you are familiar with that story, you would know she is the fairy queen. And what fairy queen doesn't wear glitter? I mean... seriously. But I've actually found a way to incorporate them into my everyday makeup routine! There will be a post on that soon. :)
More glitter? Yes. I really haven't been wearing much eye shadow lately so I like to spice up my eyeliner to make my look a bit more interesting!
Guys... I'm in love. This is my absolute favorite new mascara combination. Wow. Amazing.
I also ran out of my Revlon Photo Ready Primer and decided I wanted to venture out and try a different drugstore face primer this time. Now, I haven't been using this long enough to be able to get a sense if I really  like it or not. But I'll let you know!
Aside from the creepy guy on the front, I love this!<3 I've been using the "Correct" and "Brighten" a lot lately. I did use the "Cover" for a little while right after I got this, but it's definitely too dark for my skin right now so I'll definitely be saving that one for next summer!
Don't judge me? Basically the whole reason I got this was for the really big, nice mirror. I needed a good handheld mirror for when I'm putting my eye makeup on! I obviously am going to use the powder too because my current powder is running a little low, but I really, really love this mirror... :)
I'm not exactly sure why, but I think that this product is discontinued :( I found this at the Christmas Tree Shop. It was only like $1.50 so that's a good thing, but I'm completely bummed that you can't buy this in regular stores. It's just a really pretty matte light peachy nude shade that I've been loving for highlighting my brow bone or for putting all over my lid when I want a brighter look!
Nothing like some good dark nail polishes to get you in the fall spirit! I got these at Rite Aid for $1.99 each. I have used Sinful Colors polishes before, but all of them were neons and I was kind of disappointed at how quickly they chipped. But, I know now that it was just because they were neons. I had Mesmerize on my nails when I had to get my appendix removed, a week later my manicure had barely chipped and that was without a top coat... What?!
I totally understand why everyone is obsessed with these Color Tattoo eye shadows now. They are amazing! I really love both of these colors, they look great with hazel eyes and they just are so fall-ish. I think they look great as an all over color or as a liner.
Ok guys!
That's everything that I've purchased recently makeup wise. I've got to say, I'm basically in love with every single one of those products. If you would like me to do individual reviews, just let me know!
Have a beautiful day<3

A Disappearing Act?

Wow... Where to begin?
Hi I guess! I'm really really sorry that it's been so long since I've posted. I know that it's not really a good excuse, but my senior year has just been super crazy so far and obviously, school comes first! I also recently had my appendix removed so I was basically glued to my couch for about a week. But I'm finally returning to my normal life!
I will definitely try to get back into my normal posting schedule this week and I already have some really fun ideas that I've been dying to post about! Halloween tutorials anyone? :) Keep your eyes peeled for more posts and if you have any requests leave them in the comments! :)

Apparently Boo Radley likes those breakfast cookies just as much as I do! :)
Much love<3

Back To School: What's In My Bag?

Hi guys! :)
Today I have the first video/post in my back to school series!
What does Sarah carry in her school bag? Click the video, or read on to find out!

What Bag Do I Use?

  • Cole Haan Logan Reversible Tote!
What's In It?

  • My French book- Currently Le Petit Prince!
  • Any book that I'm reading for my English class.
  • My Agenda book- This baby has literally saved my life so many times.
  • French Dictionary- It's completely destroyed, but this is so helpful for my French class. I don't think I would have survived French 3&4 without it!
  • Dooney & Bourke Wristlet- I just keep my money, student ID, license, debit card etc. in here so I can easily take it with me if I don't want to carry my whole huge bag!
  • My Kindle- <3<3<3 I keep this just in case I finish a test or quiz early and don't have anything to do. Also, more often than not you'll find me reading in my study hall instead of doing homework.
  • Sunglasses- Obviously, this is not an essential item, but I like to have them for when I drive home from school. I don't want to get in a car crash just because it's sunny out!
  • Pencil Case- This one kind of explains itself, I just have all basic writing utensils in this bag. At the beginning of the year it's full. By the end, there's basically nothing in it.
  • MUFE Makeup Bag-
    • EOS Lip Balm
    • Chanel Lipstick in Boy
    • Bath & Body Works Wild Apple Daffodil Lotion
    • Purell Hand Sanitizer
    • Hair Elastic
    • Soft Lips Lip Balm
    • Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry
    • Goody Spin Pins
    • Bobby Pins
    • Hair Clip
  • TI 84 Plus Graphing Calculator- If your teacher doesn't recommend it, then you probably won't need it. But if they do, you definitely will. It's expensive but definitely worth the money.
  • Gum- Yup, Sarah likes sugary candy type items.
  • Keys- Pretty self explanatory, I need these so I can get to and from school and so I can actually get back into my house.
That's basically everything that I carry in my school bag!

Have a beautiful day!<3

July Favorites!

Hi girls!
So, I can't believe that the month of July is already over! I'm looking forward to August, and surprisingly I'm actually kind of excited to go back to school! :)

Favorite Products-

  • Bioderma Crealine H2O- I have been loving this when taking off my makeup, it's super gentle and does a great job!
  • Josie Maran Argan Oil- I had tried this out in the winter and it didn't provide enough moisture for my skin, but for the summer time it's perfection!
  • Revlon Photo Ready Color Correcting Primer- I love this for days when I don't want to wear a liquid foundation, I just put this on with a little concealer and powder and I'm good to go!
  • Proactiv Sulfur Mask- This is literally the only thing that actually gets rid of my acne. I put a little bit on before going to bed on my breakouts, when I wake up, they're gone!
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer- I find that sometimes bronzers make me look a bit too orange, but this one is perfect for my fair skin!
  • NYC Water Proof Eye Liner in Black- This stuff is amazing. I was looking for a good black eyeliner and this, wow... It's fantastic! Plus it's super inexpensive! Bonus!
  • Wet N Wild Cream Shadow Pencil in Pixie- A $1.99 cream shadow that looks a lot like Stila's Kitten? Yeah, I'm a fan! I've been loving this for highlighting my inner corner!
  • Cassis Noir lip balm from H&M- you may remember seeing this in my London & Paris Haul, I use this every night before I go to bed, and whenever I'm not wearing a color on my lips! It smells great and is moisturizing as well.
  • Rimmel Top Coat- This stuff really does make my polish last much longer than it does when I use other top coats.
  • Color Play by Debby- This is one of the most perfect coral colors that I have found, it's light/medium yet still bright! Totally in love.
  • Sinful Colors in 24/7- Holy hot pink. Love it.
  • French Candy- <3 1 word- Omnomnomnom<3
I hope you guys had a great month of July! :)

Have a beautiful day!<3

What Am I Reading?

Hi guys!
Sorry that I've been slacking a little bit lately when it comes to posting! It's taken me a little while to get back into the swing of things when it comes to my daily life. No matter, I recently started a book that I'm super excited about reading and I thought I would share it with you guys!

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Age of Miracles book cover“It still amazes me how little we really knew. . . . Maybe everything that happened to me and my family had nothing at all to do with the slowing. It’s possible, I guess. But I doubt it. I doubt it very much.”
On a seemingly ordinary Saturday in a California suburb, Julia and her family awake to discover, along with the rest of the world, that the rotation of the earth has suddenly begun to slow. The days and nights grow longer and longer, gravity is affected, the environment is thrown into disarray. Yet as she struggles to navigate an ever-shifting landscape, Julia is also coping with the normal disasters of everyday life—the fissures in her parents’ marriage, the loss of old friends, the hopeful anguish of first love, the bizarre behavior of her grandfather who, convinced of a government conspiracy, spends his days obsessively cataloging his possessions. As Julia adjusts to the new normal, the slowing inexorably continues.

(From www.theageofmiraclesbook.com)

Now, I can't really say my thoughts on this book because I'm only on page 19. However, it did come highly recommended to me and the concept sounds fascinating. Well, to me at least.
Anyways, just thought I'd share! I'll be sure to do a book review when I'm finished to let you guys know how I like it!
Have any book recommendations for me? Let me know!

Have a beautiful day! :)

London & Paris Haul!

Hi guys!
I'm back! As you probably can tell, today's post is going to be a haul of all of the things that I bought when I was on vacation. I am actually kind of surprised, I really thought that I was going to buy way more stuff than I did. Go Sarah! I hope you guys enjoy this pic heavy post! I'm going to put links to where you can buy this stuff online, because some of it isn't available in stores. Let me know in the comments if you've tried any of these products, and what you think of them! And don't forget to enter in my giveaway! :)

Being who I am, I did some research before I left for Europe about which products were best to buy. And man, am I glad that I did! I've only been using this for a few days, but I love it! It was a little bit gross the first time I used it after I washed my face how much makeup still came off. Yum...

If you have seen my London Giveaway post, you may recognize this product. I bought this during my one day in London, and I'm seriously in love. This is one of the best moisturizing lip products that I have ever used. And, it smells amazing!
Oh, Caudalie...I'm sure most of you have seen this brand at Sephora and you thought... Wow this French stuff is kinda expensive. Yup. But not in France! I was amazed to see this bottle sitting on the shelf of a pharmacie for only 9 Euros 90. I looked on Sephora when I got home, for the same size bottle it's $18. Wow. I guess doing some research before you go on vacation can pay off. This is another product that I've heard wonderful things about, and so far I really like it. It smells so good! I used this on the flight home, and it really did make me feel more refreshed.
Obviously, I can't tell you guys my thoughts on this because I haven't used it yet. But I'm kind of excited to see how it works.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Boy.
I thought long and hard about what I wanted to purchase from Chanel, whether I wanted a lipstick, or a cream shadow. (Tough decisions here people!) I ended up choosing a gorgeous wearable lipstick, and I couldn't be happier! I absolutely love this color. It's one of those 'my lips but better' shades. I will definitely be getting my moneys worth out of this!
While I was at the Chanel counter, I was lucky enough to get a ton of awesome samples (some, not shown) and this so far, is my favorite! This mascara is absolutely awesome. I've just been wearing this everyday with nothing else on my eyes. It makes my lashes so long and full. I'm in love.
I haven't tired this yet, but I've heard great things about it!

These 3 rings I bought at a market in the Bastille area. I was so excited when I found these because one of the things that I had wanted to get were some rings. And for only 10 euros, I couldn't go wrong!

I bought both of these dresses on my last day in Paris at a little boutique right near where we were staying. They were 36 euros each and I think definitely worth it. They are in fact identical aside from the colors. I believe the brand is Suncoco.

I bought this shirt on my birthday at the Gallerie LaFayette. I was really surprised at how different the store was set up compared to big stores like that in America, I actually think that I preferred it.

This was the only clothing item that I purchased in London. I spotted it in a store window across the street and was determined to make it mine. The color is absolutely wonderful, and I think the little details are perfection. If you can't tell... I'm a little bit in love with this jacket! :)

Alright guys, that is all the stuff that I bought over there for myself! Don't forget to enter in my London giveaway. And keep your eyes open for my Paris giveaway once that one is finished (Some of the items in this post may or may not be part of that giveaway!).

Have a beautiful day!<3
