Favorite Book Series

Hey everyone! Sorry I disappeared for a little bit, I've been really sick and have found that I don't have the energy to do much of anything! That's life I guess!
So, my favorite book series?
I think this one has to go to Harry Potter. I absolutely love this series. My grandmother got me the last one for my birthday the year it came out, and not 5 minutes after I got it, I was already plopped down in a chair completely into that book!
While I love non-fiction books, I feel like once and a while everyone needs to read a really excellent fiction book, its nice to just get taken away to a place so different from the one that you live in.
Whats your favorite book series? Did you like the Harry Potter series or are you a fan of more realistic books?

Book Case Tour!

I hope your all ready for a picture filled post! Without further adieu, lets get into it!
Alright! Thats the whole thing! Please excuse my bottom 2 shelves, I don't really use them for much. The very bottom one is all DVDs and I think some glass candle holder? I'm not totally sure. Then the next shelf up, has some container, a few text books and some PS3 games.
I would love to be able to tell you that my books are arranged alphabetically by title, but they're not. Sorry! There is a sorta-kinda system though! T
The third shelf is 'quality' literature paperbacks. The fourth shelf is 'teenage crap' books, all paperback. And the fifth shelf is my hardcover books, and one book on C.D.

  10. A Thousand Splendid Suns- Khaled Hosseini
  11. The Kite Runner- Khaled Hosseini
  12. Their Eyes Were Watching God- Zora Neale Hurston
I do believe that is all of them! And to be honest, I really did enjoy most of those!
Ok now- on to 'today's post'!
What is my favorite book that I've read in/for school?
Hmm... Honestly, the first one that comes to mind is To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. I read that in my Freshman year of high school, and I totally loved it. That's probably my favorite.. Yeah... I had always thought I had a copy of it, but come to find out, I didn't. :( So, for my last birthday my mom bought me the 50th anniversary addition of it! (Thanks Mom! :) ) I cannot even begin to say how excited I was!
A second favorite I think may be The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell by John Crawford. I chose that book for one of my summer reading choices for my U.S. history course. Really, that was probably one of the most interesting summer reading books that I have ever read. It was just so unlike the books that I normally read, I have never really read any war books before. But now, The Things They Carried is on my list!
Now, I will leave you with a fun fact! I actually named the kitten that I got last spring, Boo Radley after Arthur Boo Radley in To Kill A Mocking Bird. Just more proof that I love that book!

That right over there is my boy Boo Radley in his first snow storm!

Tomorrows post is going to be a book case tour!! Yay- books!

Have a great night! :)

Book Related Memory

Hello Night Owls!
I just finished watching One Day so I figured now was a good time to post! Have any of you guys seen that movie? Like I thought it was good, but the guy was kind of a tool, and yeah she loved him but still... If I was her, I probably wouldn't have waited that long for him! Oh well, I guess that's why that movie wasn't about me! But oh my gosh. I totally did not see that thing towards the end coming! (Don't want to spoil it! :) ) Not gonna lie, I gasped. Yup. I was thoroughly depressed.
Ok, so- Book related memory?
Reading has been a huge part of my life for literally, as long as I can remember, my parents would read to me, and whenever I could, I read to myself. It's totally a life long love affair. But one that really stands out in my mind is my dad reading one of the Harry Potter books to me. Every night before I'd go to bed he would come in and sit on my bed and read like 1-2 chapters to me. But I think the most memorable part about that was that he would always fall asleep before me! I would always have to wake him up and say, "Daddy! Keep reading!" and of course, since he was exhausted, he wouldn't even realize that he had dozed off! Despite the fact that it took a while to get through those books, they were still amazing, and as a bonus I have some really great memories paired with each of the novels!
All right everyone, I'm finally off to bed! My pillow is calling my name :)
Sleep well!

What Am I Reading Now?

HAPPY WEEKEND!

So, since I finished The Maze Runner (love) a few days ago, it is time for me to move on to my next book! And that book is.... (drum roll) Unbroken! By Laura Hillenbrand!
I must say I haven't legitimately started it yet :( The reason is, I told it to send the book to my Kindle from Amazon, and la di da di da, I thought it did... It always does if your connected to WiFi right? No. It didn't. So much to my disappointment, I was sitting in class today, doing nothing hoping that I would get to start reading this book, but no. It was not there, waiting for me. Obviously I do have other books on there, for example I've been meaning to read The Hunger Games, but I knew I wanted to read Unbroken next, so alas. I must wait patiently.... Even though I'm just going to do one of those Sync/Check for Books-diddys tomorrow morning! So yay! Unbroken!
Once I'm done I'll post a review of it! I hope I like it because this one came highly recommended to me from a very reliable source!
Have a wonderful Friday! :)

Last Series I Read?

I haven't read a complete series lately, so I think the last one I read was in like September. Obviously I'm reading a part of a series right now (The Maze Runner- OHMYGOD, its SO good!)
Ok! So what series was it?
The Luxe Series- Its made up of 4 books The Luxe, Rumors, Envy, Splendor and they are all by Anna Godbersen! They're about New York City in like 1890? Its about all the upper class families. It was entertaining to say the least! I read Envy one night sitting up in my chair eating Twizzlers! :)

Favorite Childhood Book?

Is it Sunday already?? Weekends seriously need to be longer!
When I was a kid, reading was a really big part of my life. I remember when I was in 4th grade I was reading at a 7th grade level, I cannot even explain to you how happy that made me! That's just more proof that this has been a life long love affair! :)
Favorite Childhood Book?
Alright, well this is a tough one, I really loved Rascal by Sterling North but, I also was obsessed with the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling. I think the HP series tops Rascal only because I read Rascal when I was in like 3rd grade, and I read HP for a longer time, so I guess I grew to love it more! Harry Potter it is! :)

What was your favorite book during childhood??
Have a great day!

The Idea..

Hello Hello! :)
So, this blog is going to be random, with the intent of being orderly!
Every month I will pick a different love affair of mine, and write a blog post about it every day!
Each day will go more descriptive of why I love these things, particular favorites, etc....
Sound like fun? Lets give it a shot!
