Crossed

Hey guys! So as you may know, I was reading Crossed as of like... last week? I think... But anyways, I finished it!
I really really really like this series! It sort of reminds me of the Hunger Games, just with out all the arena fighting and Peeta. Just like with the first one, it took me a little while to get hooked on it. I think it was around the part when Cassia ran away from the work camp. I really hope that Eli makes an appearance in the third book because I really liked him! I liked Indie at first as well, but I don't know anymore. I just feel like she's way too sneaky and she's going to end up stabbing Cassia in the back. Also, it kind of seems like Indie is trying to take Cassia's man! Am I the only one that thinks that? She wants literally everything that Cassia has... relax Indie.
This is a little bit off topic, but not really. What do you guys think of the covers? Click here to read my theory about the covers.
Needless to say, I'm kind of excited for the third book! A little birdie told me that they are making Matched into a movie? Have you guys heard this rumor? Do you know if it's true? I feel like this is one of those books that I'd love to see come to life. Let me know your thoughts! :)
Have a beautiful day!<3
P.S. Should I do a post on my favorite quotes from Crossed?

What am I reading?

Hi guys!
I just wanted to do a super quick book related post on what books I'm currently reading!

Yup! Crossed! I feel like I really have a thing right now for books about dystopian societies. Cough THE HUNGER GAMES Cough... Who said that?
I don't know if this has clicked for you guys yet, but I completely get the covers now! I was on Amazon yesterday and I saw that you could already by the third book and freaked out a little bit... No big. But it's just a pre-order thing since it comes out in November of this year. But if you look at all three covers it totally makes sense! Well, at least I think it does. Here's my theory, the colors of the covers (green, blue & red) represent the colors of the pills that the society gives everyone in their tablet case. And the first book is green (calming) so it's... the least harmful (?) of the three. Then the second, is blue (nutrient  pill thing) and it's supposed to keep you alive if something was to ever happen to the society. So it's, sort of like, freedom. The third is red (erases your memory) so it's the strongest out of all of the pills, and it was rumored to, well... no one really knows because it's supposed to erase your recent memory so you wouldn't remember taking the pills, but Cassia knows! Anyways, that's the most lethal.
So that's the color portion of my theory. But I think the images on the covers represent Cassia breaking away from the society. Because if you look, on the first one it looks like she's trying to get out of the bubble thing, then the second one she actually broke through the bubble, and then on the third she's like getting out of the bubble. So yup. That's my theory! It's probably totally wrong!
So I'm currently 26% done and it's starting to get really good! Let me know if you guys have read this, and if you liked it.
I'm currently reading this for my English class in school, but I really really like it! It is so much better than The Scarlet Letter (the last book we read). Have you guys read Tom Saywer? My mom said she read it and liked it more than Huck Finn. Would it be worth reading for me?
Oh, French class... Yeah, I just finished this book over the weekend for my French class. I actually really liked it. But guys, I was convinced that Lili was actually a girl until my teacher corrected me like halfway through the book... Oops!

So those are all the books that I'm currently reading, once I'm done Crossed I'll be starting The Lost Symbol (my library lone expired last time </3). I can do a post on that when I'm done if you guys want! I also will be doing a post on Crossed as soon as I finish it.
What books are you reading right now? Any recommendations?
Have a beautiful day! :)

None of the pictures used are my own.

Thoughts on The Hunger Games

Hey guys!
So if you follow me on Twitter, then you already know that I went and saw The Hunger Games last night! I honestly have been looking forward to seeing the movie since I finished the first book! Alright, now onto what I thought.

It seems like the movies are never quite as good as the books, and in this case, that remains true. However, I really did like it. I think they did a good job with recreating it. Unfortunately, there were somethings that they changed, and left out...Like how Katniss gave Prim the pin to keep her safe... what? Are you kidding me? Did I skip a chapter or something, because that's definitely not how it happened. And because of that, that completely gets rid of the character Madge. Who, I think is very important in Mockingjay even though she's dead. Also, Peeta's father never visited Katniss before she left for the Capitol.  I also feel like they didn't show the grandeur of the Capitol enough, you don't really get the sense that all of the other districts are poor and starving and the citizens of the Capitol have a fine life. And the only one in Katniss's family that looked even on the verge of starvation was her mother. Now, skipping to the Arena, I was a little bit bummed that they didn't show Rue's district sending Katniss their bread as a way of saying thanks. But, I did like that they showed Rue's district doing the three-finger salute to Katniss. Now, at the very end they didn't show Katniss and Peeta in the hovercraft where she was absolutely freaking out thinking they were going to kill them. It might just be me, but I actually really liked that part in the book, because it felt like the first time Katniss really showed that she cared for Peeta. The way they ended it leaves me wondering about the next movie... They did not show Katniss and Peeta's fight at the very end, and I feel like that is kind of important to the next movie, because they aren't exactly buddy buddy in the beginning of the second book.
Alright, enough about the bad! Time for some stuff that I loved! I really, really loved the way they showed the fighting in the Arena. It wasn't too gruesome but you knew exactly what was going on. I know that in the book they don't talk about what is going on with the game makers and the sponsors because it is told from Katniss's point of view, but I loved how they showed that in the movie! I think it made it really obvious that the tributes had absolutely no control over their fates. If the game makers wanted you to die, you would die. I also thought that Josh Hutcherson did an amazing job as Peeta! Not gonna lie guys, he's pretty cute! Jennifer Lawrence also did a great job as Katniss!
Overall, I really enjoyed the movie, if you've read the book, I think it's worth seeing but there will probably be a few changes that they made that irritate you.
Let me know if you've seen it or if your planning on going to see it! And if you've seen it- what did you think?!
Have a great Sunday guys! :)

Favorite Quotes From The Hunger Games Series

Hello! :) I'm back! As promised, this will be a post will all of my favorite quotes from the Hunger Games series! Enjoy! :)
WARNING- If you haven't finished all/any of these books, please ignore this post! There is one quote that will definitely be a spoiler! Read at your own risk!
The Hunger Games-
"I am not pretty. I am not beautiful. I am as radiant as the sun"
" Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true. Here is the place where I love you."
"Panic begins to set in. I can't stay here. Flight is essential... But I can't let my fear show."
"You don't forget the face of the person who was your last hope."
"Destroying things is much easier than making them."
"Stupid people are dangerous."
Catching Fire -
"Having an eye for beauty isn't the same thing as a weakness... Except possibly when it comes to you."
"I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you.."
"I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and life in it forever..."
"You know, you could live a thousand lifetimes and not deserve him."
"I always channel my emotions into my work. That way, I don't hurt anyone but myself."
"I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me."
Mockingjay-
"Some walks you have to take alone."
"Better not to give in to it. It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart."
"Because something is significantly wrong with a creature that sacrifices its children's lives to settle its differences."
"That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that. So after, when he whispers, 'You love me. Real or not real?' I tell him, 'Real.'"

Catching Fire & Mockingjay

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! (or... HAPPY TUESDAY!)
I know some people aren't huge fans of V-Day but where ever you are, or what you feel about today, just remember that there is always someone out there that loves you!

So as you may remember from my post last Friday, I'm kind of addicted to The Hunger Games... Like really addicted. So, after I finished The Hunger Games I immediately bought Catching Fire for my Kindle, and I didn't really read that much on Friday night, but then Saturday morning I read some and then.... I stayed up till 3 a.m. on Sunday reading... and yep, I finished it! Guys, seriously. It's so good! (Peeta<3) I'm not going to go into huge detail about the actual book itself cause I don't want to spoil it for anyone! But, I will say that it was amazing! The ending was a bit... confusing? I didn't quite understand what was going on at first (If you've read it, you'll know what I mean). But I still thought it was great! And oh my gosh! When they find out what the Quarter Quell is... I FREAKED! No joking, I may have screamed NOOOOO at my Kindle... just maybe. :)
Then Sunday morning I ended up buying Mockingjay because it was all I could do to keep myself from buying & reading it at 3 in the morning! And... I finished it today! :) Like at 3 or something. I've been almost done it since I think yesterday but I really didn't want to keep reading because after all, Mockingjay is the last book! But I can happily say that I'm glad I finished it! I was so thrilled with the way the author chose to end it! Like literally I thought that if it didn't work out the way I wanted it to, I would have just given up reading forever! Well... maybe not forever, but for a little while at least. This book, out of all of them is the most emotional. Again, I don't want to spoil it but there were a few moments when I was fighting back serious tears, and I was so thankful that I was on my couch and not at Starbucks anymore!
I feel like when you find a book, or a series that makes you stay up till 3 in the morning, and you finish all of the books in like... less than a week, you know it's good! So I hope you guys take my word for it, and read these books yourself! They are fantastic! If you've read them, let me know what you thought of Mockingjay! I know some people that have read it really didn't like it!
I for one cannot wait for the movie to come out! I think Josh Hutcherson (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) is absolutely perfect for the role of Peeta! He really is exactly the way I imagined him! I will definitely be going to see the movie, I might wait a day or two just to see what people think of it. If people say it's horrible I probably won't see it while it's in theaters, but I can promise you guys that I will be watching this movie because I am just so darn excited!
So I think within the next few days I am going to be doing a post with all of my favorite quotes from the books! Keep and eye out for that one!
Have a great Valentine's Day everyone!
Much Love!<3

The Hunger Games

Hey hey! So this is going to be a super duper quick post! Lets start it off by me saying how sorry I am for this recent period of desertion! Forgive me? Thanks! :)
Alright guys, so this week I have been A.D.D.I.C.T.E.D. to The Hunger Games! I cannot stress enough how in love with it I am! If my memory serves me correctly, this was in fact the first book I bought for my Kindle, but for some reason, I only started reading it on Tuesday! Wow! Big mistake on my part! I should have started it way sooner! So, I started Tuesday and I finished it like and hour and a half ago. Yup. Addiction. I have already bought and started Catching Fire for my Kindle! You guys, I know there is a ton of hype over this series right now because its a Best Seller and the movie is coming out in March, but I'm not kidding you, if for some reason you haven't read it- you absolutely need to... like now....!
I'm also pretty sure that it's safe for me to say that I'm team Peeta, but we'll have to see if Catching Fire changes my mind! I'll keep you updated on how I'm liking it, and when I finish!
Thankfully, I planned ahead and I do have a post planned for tomorrow (YAY!) it's sort of unlike anything I've ever posted before, I recently did some shopping and am planning on doing sort of a mini haul! The mix of items is... interesting? :) It has some Forever21 items, Sephora products, and one or two Drugstore purchases!
Keep an eye out for that everyone! :) Have a wonderful Friday, and if you haven't yet... Read The Hunger Games!!!!!!
Much Love! <3
