Summertime Fine Makeup

Hey ya'll!
Sorry I took a little bit of a hiatus during July, it was just a crazy month! But I think that I'm going to start making Youtube videos again. Now that I have my MacBook I can actually edit videos without my computer kicking me out of the program, so thats nice! Anyways, my first video is up so I'll leave it here if you want to take a look!

Have a beautiful day <3

June Favorites!

I know this is a tad bit late, but better late than never right?! Sorry for Boo Radley photo bombing the swatch photo. The flash from my camera was freaking him out and he was trying to figure out where it was coming from. I had a total brain fart when I was trying to think of my favorite products for June. This happens every single month. All during the month I'm like, wow! this product is like the greatest thing I've ever used! and then when it comes time to grab these products, I CANT REMEMBER WHICH ONE IT WAS. I might be exaggerating a little bit, but it is so frustrating... Anyways, lets get into what I actually did remember.
  • Benefit Porefessional Primer - This stuff is really awesome! My mom calls it her "spackle primer" because it fills in her pores that are "the size of Texas". I was running low on primer this month and I don't like the way some of my foundations play with the Pixi primer (I'll talk about that in a minute). I personally don't have large pores so I can't backup my moms statement with personal experience, but I do enjoy the way this makes my foundation stay all day!
  • Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in 110- I LOVE the finish of this foundation! I feel like it's incredibly versatile! I've built it up to be a full coverage using a brush, but with my beauty blender or my fingers it is a light-medium with the most beautiful natural ( not "dewy") finish! This shade it too light for me right now, but I'm debating trying the new Covergirl whipped foundation or just purchasing this in a darker shade.
  • MAC Dame Blush - I love this for when I want a super natural look, it definitely adds color to my face but it doesn't look like I caked on my grandma's powder blush.
  • MAC Pearlglide Liner in Industrial - This is the most gorgeous liner ever for those lazy makeup days! It comes off as kind of a grey-ish blue, but I find that in certain lights it looks purple! My mom never believes that this is just one liner when I'm wearing it. It looks a little bit like an ombre liner with out any extra work!
  • NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray - I usually don't like my foundation to have a dewy finish but this doesn't give an overly dewy (wet looking ) look. I think it just helps to make my foundation look a little bit more natural, and that is always a good thing. It definitely helps my foundation stay put in the summer heat too, so I love this!
  • NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Pink - I haven't technically been using this as a liner... I like to put this under my brow bone and blend it in for a gorgeous highlight! It reminds me of the one that Lucy Hale often sports on Pretty Little Liars. Plus, it lasts all day, even if you get it wet!
  • MAC Something Special Cream Blush - This is forever going to be one of my favorite basic blushes! I  love that it has no sparkle or shimmer in it. I personally hate when my cream blushes have that, I just think it looks weird on my skin. This blends in perfectly whether you use your fingers or a brush. This favorite certainly won't be going anywhere anytime soon!
  • NYX Photogenic HD Concealer in Porcelain - Concealers have always creased under my eyes no matter what I used with it. I've tried ones from Benefit, Cover FX, Revlon, Maybelline, and various other high end and drugstore brands. None of them last as well as this one. It blends beautifully under my eyes and doesn't crease. For covering problem areas on other parts of my skin it blends right in and you can't tell that I'm wearing concealer. I wish I had tried this sooner!
  • Pixi Face Prime - I really like this for when I use a powder foundation like the Smashbox Halo. It doesn't play well with all of my liquid foundations however. Some of them look streaky and awful when paired together. When used with the right foundation, this primer is awesome!
  • Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray -  I can't stand when I use a hairspray gets flaky and leaves white gunk in my hair. I usually just spray this lightly into my hair to help hold curls or to tame my flyaway's and it's perfect!
  • Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in One Size Fits Pearl - Personally, I wish this didn't have the shimmer in it that it does, but I really like it for a simple moisturizing lip color. It's really light-weight and perfect for the summer time!
  • Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Spot Treatment - Last month my skin was having a fit and decided to rebel against me no matter what I did. Once I started using this in conjunction with my Pink Grapefruit Acne Scrub it cleared right up.
That's all for my favorite products for June! What are you guys loving this summer? Do you have any recommendations for me!?

Have a beautiful day <3

Drugstore Haul!

Hey guys!
Sorry I disappeared for a little while! I lost the charger for my camera and for a while I was determined to find it, but it seems to have vanished so I just ordered a new one and it came in last night so yay! It seems that Maybelline has been on point with their new releases lately so naturally I got sucked in. I literally went to 6 different stores last week looking for the gel stick foundation! So worth it. Let's get in to the goodies!

  • Maybelline The Mega Plush mascara (waterproof) - I was totally out of waterproof mascara a little while ago and CVS had one of their extrabucks deals going on so I had to get two!
  • Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick in 110 & 115 - I finally stumbled upon these last Thursday at Target. I practically ran up to the fully stocked display because its totally logical to think that someone could have scooped them all up before I reached it! I've only tried these out twice so far but I'll be putting up an in depth review soon.
  • Blum Naturals Cucumber Face Wipes- These smell amazing. If your not a cucumber scent fan, I'd steer clear, but I love them!
  • Maybelline Baby Lips-
    • Berry Bomb (Electro Collection)
    • Pink Wink
    • Pink Shock (Electro Collection)
    • Strike a Rose (Electro Collection)
    • Oh! Orange! (Electro Collection)
  • Dermstore Lipquench- This smells like the Very Berry Refresher from Starbucks (which I'm obsessed  with) and it feels a bit sticky at first but I think it does a great job moisturizing my lips!
  • Beauty Blender Cleanser- I bought a Beauty Blender a few weeks ago and I now understand what all the hype is about. But naturally my mother had to be the voice of reason pointing out that it could be a breeding ground for bacteria. I was planning on just using a regular brush shampoo to clean it, and then after some research I found that the designated cleanser for it has antibacterial properties in it so I caved and paid $10 for a bottle of sponge cleaner...
A super tiny little exciting update! I ombre'd my hair today!! I had been toying with the idea for probably a year now and this morning I was incredibly bored and finally had the cojones to do it! I will be posting a before and after along with how I did it very soon!

Have a beautiful evening everyone! <3

Ulta Haul!

Hey guys!
I ordered some stuff from Ulta last week and it came in yesterday so I figured I would show you what I got! The real reason that I ordered was because I needed some new skincare products because my skin has been looking like straight butt lately and I am not ok with that! But NYX was buy one get one 50% off so.... I kind of had to get some stuff. Plus they had a NYX goody bag if you spent $35 so you best believe I got that! Anyways, lets start with non-makeup.

  1. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque- I have used this before and I remember liking it. It claims to help with acne and it's pretty cheap so I thought I'd give it a shot!
  2. Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel- According to the reviews on Ulta's website it doesn't really do much to help fade acne scars but that isn't really my main concern. I needed a new spot treatment and a lot of people liked this one. My skin tends to be pretty sensitive and dry so I might have to use this every other day, it has 2% salicylic acid. I'm now looking for one that had benzoyl peroxide in it, if you know of any good ones please let me know!
  3. Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray- I LOVE this hairspray! I got a travel size of it in one of my Ipsy bags a few months back and I sadly ran out of it. I really don't want to pay $20 for a big bottle of hairspray although I'm sure that I will eventually. This was on sale for $3.00 and it's travel size so it will be perfect for my trip to Canada this summer!
  4. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Cream Cleanser- Let me just say, I am kind of irritated with Ulta. I wanted the scrub version of this face soap and the item I purchased said that it was the scrub but the picture was of the cream cleanser so I figured it was just a mistake and that they'd send me the right one. Nope. I'm going to double check the listing I bought it from because I think I've tried the cream cleanser before and it dried the heck out of my skin.
  5. NYX Dewy Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray- I'm really looking forward to testing this out. I love NYX products and I love setting sprays so I figured, why not?
  6. L'Oreal Ever Style Beach Spray- I have naturally wavy/curly hair so I love any product that just gives it a little bit of a boost. I know Bumble & Bumble makes a really great beach spray but I just could never justify their prices so when I saw this for around $5 I knew I had to get this! There will definitely be a review coming soon.
  7. Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer- This is the moisturizer that I've been using since January and I absolutely love it! I'm running low on mine so I got this one for when I run out.
  1. Samples- Ahava Extreme Day Cream, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, MOR Hand Cream
  2. NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Pink
  3. NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Black
  4. NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Glam Golden
  5. NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in Divine
  6. NYX Glam Shadow in Beauty Blog
  7. NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Pink
  8. NYX GLam Lip Gloss Aqua Luxe in VIP
  9. NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Porcelain
  10. NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper

Every single makeup product that I bought was from NYX.... oops! Let me know if you want reviews of any of the products!
Have a beautiful day <3

Lets Catch Up!

 Hey everyone!
I figured since it's been a while we might as well catch up so I'm going to fill you in on the top 6 most important things that you missed!

  1. I don't really have a picture for this one because it would be kind of gross. But in the end of September I had to have my appendix removed due to appendicitis. Its a good time. (All sarcasm intended)

2. Unfortunately this isn't a fun one. In January I lost my beautiful dog Jasmine to a heart attack. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her.
3. I took my senior class trip to Washington D.C., it was a lot of fun but I was in serious need of a nap at the end of the day. And lets just say, when I got home I had never been so happy to see my bed.
4. I somehow managed to make it through a full year of AP Physics along with a full course load of other difficult classes (thank you Jesus!).
5. SENIOR PROM! First off, I would just like to say that I looked like a mermaid. I tried to get them to do an under the sea theme, but no such luck. Either way, it was an amazing night and I was and still am, absolutely in love with my dress. ( by Gigi ) Oh, and can we just take a second to appreciate the man candy in this picture! It is Monday, so... #mancandymonday anyone?
 6. I graduated!! WOOO! I know everyone says it, but it's so true. These past four years flew by. My senior year went by in a blur. I feel like if you blinked or stopped for just one second, you missed something important. The past four years have definitely been a roller coaster, but high school was great and I'm looking forward to college and being able to get on with my life!
Congratulations to everyone in the Class of 2013! I can't believe we finally made it! To anyone who's still in high school, don't wish it away. Come the week of graduation your going to wish you could have just one more class with that cute boy you never got to talk to. Everything that you might have hated is suddenly going to become something that you love and will deeply miss.
That's all for tonight guys! I should have a Hope's & Ulta haul coming for you guys really soon!
Let me know what I missed in your life while I was away!
Have a beautiful night.

Book Nerd?

Hello everyone!
So, yet again I have performed my usual disappearing act, I know... I'm sorry! Senior year is incredibly busy as it is and then add in work and trying to maintain a social life, it can get a little bit hectic.
Anyways, the point of this post is to talk about all of the books that I've been reading lately. Please note, this isn't even all of them! The books shown top to bottom are:

  • Dubliners by James Joyce
  • Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling
  • Le Comte de Monte-Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
  • Pretties by Scott Westerfeld
  • Specials by Scott Westerfeld
  • Extras by Scott Westerfeld
  • Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
  • Reached by Ally Condie
  • Ape House by Sara Gruen
I also have recently read Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, and Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
Obviously I'm still in the process of reading most of these books, but thankfully this snow storm gives me an excellent excuse to cuddle up with them!  Over the next few days/weeks I will be posting my thoughts on hopefully all of these books. I currently am waiting to get my hands on some books that are more medical based, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lax, In The Country of Hearts, Strength In What Remains. Keep your eye out for those too! If you have any book recommendations for me please, let me know. I'm always looking for new material to read.
For those of you lucky readers that live in the areas affected by Nemo, stay warm and stay safe!
Have a beautiful day :)

12 Beauty Favorites of 2012!

Hi everyone!

It's been two months again... I'm not quite sure how this always happens! But anyways, I'm going to try to be posting content regularly! I figured as my first post back I would do my 12 beauty favorite of 2012 so lets get into it!

1. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boy - As some of you may know, I purchased this over the summer while I was in Paris and I absolutely love it! Its the perfect color for when your lips need a little something but you don't want it to be obvious that your wearing a lipstick!

2.Benefit They're Real Mascara- I LOVE this mascara! It is absolutely amazing! I usually layer this everyday with my Maybelline Falsies. It gives great length and volume without any clumping!

3. NARS Pro Prime Eye Primer- This is hands down my favorite eye shadow base ever. I definitely think that it beats out Urban Decay Primer Potion. Don't get me wrong, I love UDPP too, but this.... Nothing holds a candle to it! If I want my eye shadow to stay in the exact same place, you know what primer I'm going to be using!

4. Clinique Gel Liner in Black Honey- I love using this on days when I don't have a lot of time to put towards my makeup. Just a little bit of this wakes up my face and brings out the green in my eyes.
5. Clinique Moisture Surge- So yes, this container is completely empty... But that is only because this product is so well loved! I adore this moisturizer! For me it's perfect for the summer and winter. To help combat my winter dryness I just put a little bit extra on my skin and leave it there so it can sink in!

6. Clinique Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover- This, is unreal. For the show that I did this past fall I had to wear a lot of glitter, and it wasn't just sprinkled all over my body. No,no. This glitter was packed on my eyes and my cheek bones and it was intense. This was the only makeup remover that got it off in one swipe! It was amazing! I've been totally hooked on this ever since. And another bonus, it doesn't leave your eye lids feeling greasy!

7. Acetone Polish Remover- So I know that for a lot of people this is a staple when it comes to the products they use in regards to their nails but I just discovered this in 2012! I had heard plenty about it from some of the nail blogs that I follow but I had never tried it. My mom originally bought it to remove her gel nails and I used it to take off my glitter polish and, wow. If your a nail polish girl, you know how much of a pain it is to take of glitter polish. This, makes it a breeze. I won't use it for regular polish because it's not super great for you but for gel nails and glitter this will be my choice!

8. Carols Daughter Macadamia Oil- Sorry about the kitty foot, Boo Radley decided that what I was doing was absolutely fascinating and he needed to investigate! So this oil is in a way, multi-purpose. It's a heat protectant and it gives your hair a beautiful shine and makes it super smooth and soft! I will either use this right when I get out of the shower on my wet hair or before I straighten it. And sometimes after I'm done either straightening or curling my hair I'll run a little bit of this through my hair just to make it even glossier!

9. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation- This one obviously gets Boo Radley's stamp of approval! This foundation, for me, is the best one that I have ever used. While I know that the $38 price tag can seem a bit ridiculous, I think that it's worth it. Not only is this a large bottle, I've found that you don't need a ton of product to achieve an airbrushed flawless finish. This gives my skin the perfect look, it's not too heavy of a foundation so it doesn't look like I am wearing a mask but it isn't too sheer either.

10. Neutrogena Clairfying Shampoo- Neutrogena makes shampoo? What? Yeah. They do. And it's awesome! This is definitely not an everyday shampoo, but more like a once or twice a week kind of deal. Either way, if you have product build up and your hair just doesn't feel as clean, just use this! It does an amazing job of getting all of that gunk out of your hair.

11. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche- As you can tell, this bottle has received quite a bit of love over the past year. To me, this is one of the most perfect light and fresh scents for the summer time or just anytime that you want to smell yummy!

12. Marc Jacobs Daisy- I honestly think that I wore this basically everyday in November and December... I liked this fragrance when I got it but i didn't love it. Now, I love it! It's one of those scents that just makes me happy every single time that I smell it!

Those are my top 12 favorite products for 2012, I can think of so many other products that I adored, but these are the best of the best! I hope all of you had a wonderful 2012 and I hope you have an even better 2013!!

Have a beautiful day! <3
